I know what it’s like to be carefree, live on the edge, look forward to new experiences and seek them diligently.

I know what it’s like to lose control and care little about when you’re gaining it back.

I also know what it’s like to be so obsessed with your appearance that you spend hours working on various aspects of it.

And I know what it’s like to get lost in something you’re passionate about, so much so that you neglect what’s important because you can think of nothing else.

I know this because I’ve been there, not so long ago, but long enough to know that I don’t want to go back there.

Not when I have learned to be in control of what I’m doing, where I’m going and what I’m feeling. I know how to set my priorities and follow them and how to be confident about the direction I’m headed.

I’ve also learnt to stop and listen. To listen to God. To listen to my instincts. And to listen to the people who love me.

I have also learnt to listen to my mind, my body and my spirit. To look out for signs and signals. To try to find out what they mean and try to understand why they were triggered.

I’ve learnt that they speak to me and I can also speak to them.

What are they telling you?

Do you sleep with the door open or closed?
