Jubilee Nominated MP David Ole Sankok has denied neglecting a three-year-old son he allegedly sired with a woman after a two-year affair.

Peris Maina is accusing Ole Sankok of deserting her after she gave birth in 2015; leaving her with a pending hospital bill.

The mother-of-two who lives in Narok’s sprawling Majengo slums alleges that she met Sankok in 2012 when the MP was still operating Osim Clinic in Narok town.

“In 2015, I fell pregnant and when I broke the news, he assured me he would take care of me and the baby,” Maina said. “When he started ignoring my calls and texts after I gave birth, I knew I was on my own. I was mad because he had promised to take care of me.”

Maina told The Nairobian that after three months of silence, she stormed Osim Clinic and abandoned the baby there and it was later that the MP sent the clinic receptionist to give her Sh20,000. Since then, Maina claims that the married legislator, who was appointed Chairman of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) before being nominated by Jubilee in 2017, went underground.

Asked why she kept mum over the child she explains that “he told me to keep the matter a secret between me and him as he was a married man; I agreed hoping that he would return the favour but after years of waiting, I realised that I was the one suffering with my son.”

Contacted by The Nairobian, Ole Sankok distanced himself from the love-child arguing he was ready for a DNA test.

“I do not know Peris and only remember her coming to my clinic as a patient, wanting to procure an abortion, but I told her we don’t offer such services. That’s when she said I would have to support the child,” Sankok explained on phone adding that if Peris obtained court orders for DNA tests, he was ready to comply.

“Once I get a court order, I’m ready for the DNA to be conducted. I’m 100 per cent sure that the child is not mine,” he said, threatening to press charges in case of foul play. Ole also Sankok denied sending her money once in 2018 and 2019 and asked for proof.

“I received Sh4, 000 for Christmas shopping on December 24, 2018, at a hotel in Ewaso Nyiro. On January 2, this year he sent me Sh8, 000 which I used to pay school fees,” Maina told The Nairobian.

“She is lying that I have supported her. Let her give you the evidence. I have never and will never support her,” the MP said.

On January 4, this year Maina reported this case to Nakuru West Sub-County Children’s office and Sankok was summoned but he never appeared. She is asking for Sh50, 000 monthly child support since she is jobless and unable to cater for her son.

“I used to work at an audit firm in Kitengela, Kajido County but the company closed down forcing me to come back home. I am now jobless and cannot support the child. All I want is him to support his child. Nothing else,” Maina said.
