Bomet County, through the reigning Miss Bomet beauty queen Miss Faith Chepkorir, has started a charity organisation that is set to work with young mothers.
The initiative seeks to empower over 5,000 young mothers, youth and the community through income-generating activities.
"Empowering Young Mothers (EYOM) targets young mothers who get pregnant at an early age and are forced to drop out of school," Faith told Pulse.
"The number of single young mothers is increasing at an alarming rate and has therefore called for attention in mitigating the challenge."
