Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi had surprise birthday wishes on the floor of the Assembly on May 3.
She however declined to let her age to be captured in the Hansard. A female MCA let the secret out when she roared “Happy Birthday!” before others joined in.
When they asked her, “How old are you”, a stunned Elachi stated: “Members you are out of order!” Subsequent MCAs on the floor wished her happy birthday.
“How old are you now?” posed Kware MCA Rose Kula.
Elachi responded, “I am your age!”

Minority Leader Elias Otieno demanded she reveal her age, but Elachi declined.
Elachi later hosted a party for members in her office.
