Drama as man is paraded nude after being nabbed sodomising boy

A 69-year-old man escaped death by a whisker after he was caught pants down, sodomising a 14-year-old boy at Jua Kali area in Kakamega town. The old man is a neighbour to the boy.

Residents who came to rescue the boy when they heard him screaming for help descended on the old man, who lives by himself, with blows and kicks and almost killed him.

Threatening to lynch him, they frog matched him in the nude through back streets, shaming him.

Geoffrey Mushila, an eyewitness, told Crazy Monday that the suspect has a habit of sodomising young boys in the wee hours of the night.

Mushila claimed that the man, whose children moved out of the home to start their own families, started the odd behaviour upon the demise of his wife a few years ago.

“Had the police not intervened, we would have killed the man. He is in the habit of doing such disgraceful acts to kids and when reported to police, he gets arrested and released,” said Mushila.

“We wanted to lynch him, but police saved him. He is lucky we didn’t get petrol and tyres on time. If the police will release him as usual, we will kill him,” he said.

Alice Alwanda, also an eye witness said the suspect should marry another wife instead of going after young boys.

Ms Alwanda said the man was putting the lives of their children at a risk, adding that if the sodomised child was hers: “I would have dealt with him perpendicularly (sic).”

“It is unacceptable for a man of this age can have feelings for a fellow man or young boy. If he wants someone for sexual reasons, there are way too many women out here. At worst, he can get it from prostitutes at a small fee,” she scoffed.

The boy who was sodomised claimed that the suspect gave him some sweets and after taking them, became dizzy.

“He grabbed me and took me to his bedroom and ripped off my clothes before raping me. When I started screaming, he tried to gag my mouth and threatened to hack me to death,” he said.

Neigbours heard the screams and forcefully gained entry into the house. Kakamega Central OCPD, Joseph Chebii confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect is in police custody.

“We are investigating the incident and once we compile evidence the suspect will be prosecuted for sodomy,” Chebii said.
