Trans-Nzoia County Speaker Joshua Werunga who was injured in a confrontation with police in which five people were killed in Kolongolo village claims a senior police officer wanted him killed.
Mr Werunga is at Midheal Hospital in Eldoret nursing injuries on the head and hand. He claimed the senior officer pushed him to the ground.
"I was trying to calm the residents when he grabbed and pushed me to the ground before he ordered his junior to beat me up," Werunga claimed.
Aides came to his rescue by pulling him away from the hands of the officers. He was driven to Kitale Hospital and later transferred to the Eldoret facility.
