Afrika Aviation edged White Cap Lager 8-7 to lift Kenya International Six-Goal Polo Tournament at Nairobi Polo Club yesterday.
South African and handicap five player, Gareth Evans, scored five goals including a penalty at the death for the timely victory.
“It was great team work. Everyone played their role in this victory. We are happy to be the new champions," said Aisha Gross, who played a vital role in Aviation's victory.
“I think we have set the bar very high and hope to carry on with the same tempo when we resume for the 14-Goal tournament next weekend."
The crunch final left fans at the edge of their seats. It was full of see-saws as both sides scored and attacked in equal measure.

Mount Kenya farmer Jamie Murray was the first to open the score-sheet for White Cup Lager with a field goal in the second minute.
Evans leveled for Aviation with a converted penalty. Then Georgina Millar slotted home a gem one minute later to make it 2-1 for Aviation at the end of the opening chukka.
Murray, who is also at handicap five, took matters in his own hands to level 2-2 through a penalty for his side at the start of the second chukka.
Evans then replied with a converted penalty as Aviation took a 3-2 lead, but for a while as Murray’s wife, Dani, equalised. [Standard Reporter]
