National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga on Friday, March 16 toured Kisumu, Kisii and Homa Bay counties for the first time since he met with President Uhuru at Harambee House. It was not clear how his supporters who have been loyal to him would receive him.

Raila was however received by the same magnitude that welcomes him every time he pays a visit to Kisumu, one of his strongholds.

The self-styled People’s President thanked the supporters for endorsing the national reconciliation process he embarked on after the monumental handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9.

While in Kisii County, Raila explained why he met with the president insisting that he had not jumped ships to join the ruling Jubilee Party. He said his main reason for holding talks is to end the political tension in the country.

“Nasa has not joined Jubilee. Nasa is still strong. It is me who went to meet with (President) Uhuru Kenyatta for the sake of Kenya,” he said in Homa Bay County.

After his tour, Raila thanked his supporters through social media platforms for what he termed a very warm welcome.

“I wish to thank the people of Kisumu County for a very warm welcome and strongly endorsing the national reconciliation process that we are undertaking for the sake of our beloved nation. Asanteni sana,” he tweeted hours after his visit.
