David Ndii, arrested in Kenya today, is one of the country's most prominent economists and anti-corruption crusaders. He is also the opposition nasa movement's main strategist and intellect. For the government, he is a very dangerous man.— Adrian Blomfield (@adrianblomfield) December 3, 2017

Is arresting David Ndii part of the reconciliation plan the president told us about at his coronation? — Dr Wandia (@wmnjoya) December 3, 2017

For many years, Prof. Wangari Maathai kept being harassed; the World celebrated & gave her Nobel Prize; the highest global award ... Kenya celebrated her only after she died ... Now we are arresting Prof. David Ndii, a highly respected global Economist .. Kenya harasses its BEST!— Donald B Kipkorir (@DonaldBKipkorir) December 3, 2017

Fellow Kenyans:

David Ndii's family really needs you right now. A true patriot is in the hands of a notoriously opaque security apparatus. These initial minutes/hours are crucial. Let the state know that Ndii must be released unharmed. pic.twitter.com/E6Cp2mvQFq— JFJustice (@JFJustice) December 3, 2017

I would imagine there might be some international response to detention of David Ndii tomorrow. West has been very silent on Kenya in recent weeks, with little reaction even to last month's deaths. There will be pressure now for that to change.— Adrian Blomfield (@adrianblomfield) December 3, 2017

Why is Jubilee panicking? Why are you arresting David Ndii?A clear indication of whatever NASA is planning is legal and can actually work!— Brian. (@WwwOkado) December 3, 2017

Arresting David Ndii will not bring down Kenya's soaring debt or improve the economy. Try good economic policies and arresting the criminals in govt who are looting public coffers.— Wambui (@Waambui) December 3, 2017

Apparent arrest of David ndii a worrying development. He has an international reputation but not just that - a possible sign of gov't response to people's assembly— Adrian Blomfield (@adrianblomfield) December 3, 2017
