Bungoma, Kenya: Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula has received overwhelming support to run in the 2017 presidential race from Pokot elders.
Speaking at his Kanduyi home on Sunday where he hosted a delegation of over 100 elders, Kapenguria MP, Samuel Moroto, said Wetang'ula had the wisdom to lead Kenya.
The legislator called on the Luhya community to unite so that one of their own would be backed by other communities in the country.
"For anyone to ascend to power, they must have home based support strong enough to provide the initial boost, but unnecessary fights at home could make it difficult for him," said Moroto.
