A traffic police officer was yesterday seriously injured after he was run over by a motorist at Salgaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The officer, Calib Natan, was crashed while flagging down a speeding vehicle.
The officer sustained serious injuries on his head, neck and left knee and was rushed to hospital in Nakuru.
Rongai OCPD Joseph Mwamburi said the driver was pursued and arrested. The vehicle was towed to Salgaa Police Station.
"Police officers are investigating the incident to arraign the owner of the vehicle in court and charge him with breaking traffic rules," said Mwamburi.
