A row over an alcohol bill left two brothers dead after one stabbed the other on the chest before turning the knife on himself in a Naivasha village.
The Wednesday night incident in Kinungi village off the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway left residents in shock as relatives and friends tried to come to terms with the deaths.
The two aged 31 and 29 years old were drinking in a local bar when they differed over the bill leading to a confrontation.
The elder one identified as Joseph Kagwima in a fit of anger whipped out a knife and stabbed the younger brother Simon Kamau on the chest leaving him bleeding on the floor of the bar.
On arrival at his home nearby, he used the same knife to slit his throat and was pronounced dead on arrival at Naivasha sub-county hospital where he had been rushed for treatment.

A relative Cecelia Wanjiru told of their shock, noting that the two who were land brokers were friends who always conducted their businesses jointly.
Wanjiru added that they were still in shock and did not know the cause of the row which she termed as a double tragedy for the family.
“Losing two members of the family in one night and under such circumstances is very hard and painful and we are trying to come to terms with the incident,” she said.
