Moi University has entered into a deal with the Government to produce the fabric to be used in making the new police uniform.
Vice Chancellor Isaac Kosgey (right) said this during the institution's 37th graduation ceremony in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County.
Prof Kosgey hinted that the deal was reached on Monday, paving way for Rivatex Company to produce garments to be used in making uniforms for the disciplined force.
"Rivatex Company is leading in textile manufacturing and I am happy to note that we have signed a deal with the police so that we can assist them in producing the garments," he said.
"We are reaching out to other disciplined forces, including National Youth Service, to produce for them their intended fabric because we have all the necessary tools."

Students of former Garissa University College who survived a terror attack in April 2015 were also part of the graduating team.
"At the moment, we are aligning our institution programmes with the Big Four agenda and textile is part of it," Kosgey said, adding that the agreement would create jobs.
Speaking separately, Rivatex Managing Director Thomas Kipkurgat confirmed that the security officials were in Eldoret last week to assess the factory's capacity.
