A man, 36, committed suicide by jumping into a borehole in Matisi Estate, Kitale.
Derrick Nganyi told neighbours that he was unable to cope with life before he died on Friday morning.
A neighbour, Lucy Chelegat, who witnessed Nganyi jump into the family’s borehole said the deceased had told her he was going through tough times.
“We were chatting with a guard when Nganyi came carrying a bible and said he was not ready to face hard times anymore before he jumped into the borehole,” she said.
His father John Singiri said Nganyi had turned to drugs after failing to get a job.
