Uasin Gishu, Kenya: Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia now says President Uhuru Kenyatta has stepped in to save the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).

According to Kimemia, the President has directed Attorney General Githu Muigai to “do everything possible” to ensure normalcy returns to the troubled body.

But Kimemia has urged farmers to be patient as the Government tries to ensure that operations resume at the board.

Kimemia assured farmers that both Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto had kept close tabs on the issues surrounding the saga.

“It is indeed true that not even a single 50kg bag was supplied by Erad Supplies Limited to the Board and the two had ordered restoration of the board’s assets and instructed the Attorney General to expedite the process of normalcy at the board,” he assured.

Kimemia, who spoke at the weekend during a fundraising event in Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu County, asked farmers to be patient as the Government sorts out the board woes.
