Three women from Kasarani, Nairobi, have drowned after a boat capsized in Lake Victoria at Arongo Beach in Seme, Kisumu County, police reports say.
Two more are still missing.
According to a police report, officers who visited the scene established that six people who had travelled from Kasarani, Nairobi, to attend a funeral service in the area had taken a leisurely boat ride.
Police say a boy who was rushed to Manywanda Sub-County hospital and believe six people lost their lives.
Bodies of the unknown boat crew are yet to be retrieved.
