Three prisoners escape from Siaya Prison

Three prisoners have escaped from the Siaya prisons.

The prisoners took advantage and escaped when they were going to church.

Details of their escape are still scanty as prisons officials in Siaya said they are investigating.

Kenya Prisons Service Spokesman Dixon Mwakazi told The Standard two of the prisoners were re-arrested while one is still at large.

"I am unable to give much information because we are still investigating."

The spokesman said the two who were arrested have been locked up again.

He said they had launched a search for the third one.

"Our regional commander is in Siaya over the issue. We will give more information once we have everything."
