The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) is looking to reinforce its workforce with the announcement of over 200 vacancies in different departments.
In a newspaper advert, KFS says it has 193 vacancies for record management assistants (clerical officers), 57 positions for drivers and plant operators, 47 positions forester trainee and 10 positions for forest management trainees.
“Interest candidates who meet the requirements should apply indicating the reference number for the position,” reads the advert.
“Application should include current curriculum vitae indicating current and expected remuneration, mobile number, names and details of referees.”
The Forest management trainees will undergo the mandatory basic paramilitary course as well as on-the-job training on forest conservation, protection and management.

KFS Board in April appointed Julius Kamau as Chief Conservator of Forest replacing Emilio Mugo whose contract ended last year.
Mr Kamau who is a re-known environmentalist also served as Deputy Executive Director for Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust and served as the Executive Director at the East African Wild Life Society.
He served as a member of the task force formed last year by to look into forest management resources and logging in the country.
