Former President Daniel arap Moi joined world leaders in congratulating President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday following the upholding of his victory by the Supreme Court.
Moi said he was confident Uhuru will consolidate national unity, enhance peace and revitalise the economy.
China and Iran joined a list of 40 world leaders State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu confirmed had congratulated the President.
Although Esipisu did not release the list at a press briefing at Harambee House yesterday, he indicated the Foreign Affairs ministry, headed by Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, would do so ahead of the Head of State’s swearing-in on Tuesday next week.
UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson was the first to send his country’s message in a telephone call to Dr Mohamed, the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit affirmed via Twitter.

Britain, South Sudan, Uganda, Bangladesh, the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had also sent their congratulatory messages.
Council of Governors Chairman Josphat Nanok yesterday congratulated Uhuru on behalf of the 47 county administrations.
