Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker has loaned their third choice goalkeeper to Bandari as the latter prepares for the Division One league, which starts next month.

Bandari lost their top custodians Ivo Mapunda and Wycliffe Kasaya to Gor Mahia after they were relegated to the lower division.

Bandari also lost Anthony Murungi to Tusker but coach Rashid Shedu confirmed the signing of goalkeeper John Mbugua from Bidco.

The new signings are among the 10 new players who have been signed by Bandari as they hope to bounce back to top flight football next year.

In an interview in Mombasa, Shedu said already 16 players are in the camp at Mombasa Baptist High School and would strengthen the team with more 14 players during the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Inter-departmental football tournament, which starts on Saturday at Mbaraki Sports Club.

Shedu confirmed having signed four foreigners-Said Kalitembo (Moro United, Tanzania), Robert Mwamboya (Tukuyu Stars, Tanzania), Shadrack Nsajjigwa (AFC, Arusha Tanzania) and Emmanuel Geita from Mukura, Rwanda.

Other new signings are Kelvin Karanja and Kassim Mohammed both from Magongo Rangers of Mombasa, David Kalume from relegated Congo United, Anthony Mbuthia from Bidco and Zaki Mohammed of Coast United.

Shedu confirmed the release of Ugandan Peter Musinni and Islam Mohammed alongside Murungi, Mapunda and Kasaya.

Meanwhile, relegated Congo United who have changed their name to Mombasa City Stars has been hit by mass exodus of players.

As a result, the club has gone back to the drawing board after the club lost over ten players to other clubs.

Team Manager Aarif Baghazal confirmed most of the players have signed for other clubs, thus leaving the club with skeleton players.

Baghazal said the future of the club would be known once its chairman Fadhil Bayusuf returns to the country.

"The chairman is expected back soon from abroad and an urgent meeting would be convened to chart the way forward," said Baghazal.

Baghazal, however, said the club was optimistic that football will be revamped under the chairmanship of Sam Nyamweya.

He called for unity among the elected leaders and urged leaders to stop washing their dirty linen in public, which he said, were not healthy for football development.
