Celebrated singer Elena Jane “Ellie” Goulding was one of the key performers during this year’s Bacardi Triangle extravaganza in Puerto Rico last weekend and Pulse’s AUSTINE OKANDE was at the celebrations where he managed to get a candid moment with the Starry Eyed hit-maker, who is also a 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards nominee
That Saturday evening, the 27-year-old singer, Ellie Goulding hit the sea on a private island in the Bermuda Triangle, clad in a bikini that showed off her incredible abs.
The gorgeous singer enjoyed the attention as the media captured the incredible navy blue and white two-piece that was tightly clinging on to her.
Together with Calvin Harris and Kendrick Lamar, Ellie had flown to Puerto Rico where Bacardi had flown in about 2,000 guests for the special music event.

Earlier in the day, the singer-songwriter had revealed to Pulse how she had started work on her follow up to the 2012 album Halcyon.
“I have done a few songs that I am happy with. I am happy with the direction my music is taking,” she remarked.
“I like working with Calvin Harris as we have been friends for long. I suppose he will be in this one too,” she adds.
After launching her music career in 2009 by releasing her debut extended play (EP), An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, the star became the second artiste to both top the BBC’s annual Sound Of poll and win the Critics’ Choice Award at the Brit Awards in 2010.
She then released her debut studio album, Lights, and the album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has since sold over 850,000 copies in the UK.
Her cover of Elton John’s Your Song reached number two in UK and after releasing her second album Halcyon in 2012 with Anything Could Happen as the lead single, Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one.
So what is the secret to her great performances?
“I often take a few shots of my favourite drink on the rocks... just enough to make me feel a bit more pumped and excited, but I don’t get drunk. That would be a very bad idea,” she told Pulse.
Professionalism is a key trait to an international artiste of Goulding’s stature. In the international sphere an artiste’s record sales are not only informed by their vocal capabilities but how ingenious they are, how they brand themselves and their relationship with the media - factors that one could easily gather when chatting with this singer.
Taking Goulding out for a date would be a daunting job for any man. When we asked what words or expressions from a suitor would easily sweep her off her feet she said; “It would have to be something pretty epic, am not easily impressed.”
“I have played on an island before and the thing about such performances is that you don’t know what to expect. But hopefully, I will remember how to sing because I haven’t had a show for over a month,” she noted.
Goulding further adds that she will not be doing tours until she releases her forthcoming album.
She describes her music as electronic and professes her love for live music that is complete with a band.
“I have such an affinity for electronic music, classical music and folk music that so much stuff comes into it. My shows have high energy I don’t like mellow songs,” she told Pulse.
And she keenly avoids revealing details about her upcoming album, only saying that she is excited about the direction the album is taking.
“I think it is easy to do something new and crazy, but I don’t really over think it when I get in the studio.”
Ellie is currently nominated for a 2014 MTV Europe Music Award.
Never likely to be one of those singers who is content just to turn up, lay down a vocal and leave, Ellie’s approach to writing and recording is borderline obsessive – but then, anything less, she says, would be a waste of time.
Some of her notable songs, including those topping charts in Kenya are Lights, Beating Heart, Burn, Your Song and Starry Eyed.
