Kenya is set to host the third water, electricity and power expo (WEPEX 2019) which is the largest platform for products, services and technologies in the water and energy sectors.
The two-day event is scheduled to take place in October at the Kenya International Convention Centre.
This comes at a time when the Government is engaged in achievement of Big Four Agenda which relies greatly on Energy and water as enablers for its delivery.
According to organisers, the objective of the expo is to provide a platform to showcase latest technologies in the utilities industry, build awareness of products and services within the sectors. It will also promote knowledge sharing and opportunities for best practices with the world’s leading players in the water, electricity and renewable energy industries.
Kenya’s utilities sector is expanding as a consequence of the growing demand for energy and water resulting from the rapid urban and industrial expansion, a fast-growing population, change in modern lifestyle and continuing government investment in infrastructure projects.

The event organized by IkapaMedia East Africa in conjunction with other stakeholders will bring together utility professionals from across the globe to learn, share knowledge and engage with Kenyan entrepreneurs on topics that will secure the future development of Kenya’s power and water industries
“As population grows, there is need for more sustainable power, more clean water, more electricity, more renewable and safe energy. That is what WEPEX brings to Kenya, technology that moves with time in the three sectors,” said Florence Sugut of Ikapa Media East Africa, one of the event organisers.
