A taxi driver, Paul Githinji Mberia, was on Monday charged with causing the death of a two and a half-year-old boy on 17th February along Old Baraka Road in Nairobi.
Police said that the deceased and his grandmother had attended a church service but at some point the boy wanted to go outside and relieve himself.
The granny reportedly accompanied the boy outside and left him playing with other kids outdoor but shortly she heard a child screaming and upon rushing outside, she saw her grandson under the accused vehicle bleeding excessively after being hit.
The boy was rushed to Mama Lucy hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Githinji was then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
