Over the past weeks, shipments of massive anti-riot paraphernalia have docked in the country to bolster the preparedness of national security units.
This is part of the plan to manage mass protests that could arise during this electioneering period with 30 counties having been identified as possible hotspots.
Most notable arrivals were the new fleet of armored vehicles with advanced features and new anti-riot gear, with their pictures circulating widely on social media after people appearing to be police officers in training flaunted their latest acquisitions.
Specifically, Kenya has imported water cannons made in South Korea to deal with rowdy mobs and quell any form of violence that may arise.
There are up to 30 water cannons which have been deployed to different parts of the country.
