Election stakeholders in Kakamega have said they are ready for the August 8 polls.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ forum bringing together actors, presiding High Court Judge Ruth Sitati confirmed that they are ready for any petition resulting from the polls.
“We as the Judiciary have ensured that election petitions will be handled in time and urgently. Judges will not go on leave,” Sitati said.
The meeting was attended by Kenya chapter of the International Commission of Jurists, Court Users Committee, representatives from various churches, police and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission officials, candidates eyeing various seats among others.
