Shinyalu MP Silverse Anami was arrested on Saturday morning by police in Kakamega over alledged link to commotion that was on Friday witnessed at a function attended by Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Sicily Kariuki.
Western Rigion police boss Moses Ombati after the release said the MP recorded a statement at the station and will be reporting back on Monday.
Mr Ombati added that the MP will face charges ranging from incitement to damage of property at the function.

The MP was released a short while after Senator Boni Khalwale intervened but the Senator has linked the arrest to claims that Jubilee party was buying ID cards from locals.
Senator Khalwale through his twitter handle said Mr Anami had been arrested for having impounded people buying ID cards from the residents.
" Pleased to have secured the release of Shinyalu MP, Hon Lisamula earlier arrested when he busted Jubilee ID buying syndicate ," reads Senator Khalwale's tweet.
Police officers pounced on Mr Anami at a roadblock as he left church for Kakamega town on Saturday.

On Friday, CS Sicily Kariuki held a youth affairs function at the Solio grounds in Shinyalu constituency, a function that was disrupted with the area MP at some point going down in a struggle with members of the National Youth Service.
