A man accused of killing his father following a dispute over sub-division of family land had threatened the deceased, a Kisumu court was told.
Dorothy Akinyi, a daughter of the deceased, said her father once told her that all his sons were content with their portions except for Caleb Owino, the accused.
"The accused had been threatening to kill him and he reported the matter to Maseno Police Station but no action was taken," she told Justice Esther Maina.
She said her father had five sons to whom he had given equal portions of land.
The deceased had four wives. Ms Akinyi said her father was murdered on his way to the farm in the morning.
