I thought Leopards were real nocturnal hunters and not scavengers! AFC Leopards, please hunt for Vincent Oburu do not scavenge!

I read my sister from the Den, Monica Binti Ngere’s assertion that Vincent Oburu is theirs! I have been thinking that Leopards were real nocturnal hunters, even if opportunistic in behaviour, but not scavengers. On this case, Ingwe wants to scavenge. Period! We all know how players appear in the under 20s and in other age-group tournaments in this country.

One gets a chance and they are on the field, no affiliation or anything, one just wants to showcase his/her talent. That appearance is hardly considered as being part of that team. That is what Vincent Oburu did with AFC Leopards. He appeared in the club’s jerseys during the under-20 tournament.

Gor had followed him keenly and knew he had good skills and potential. The club discussed some terms with him and he accepted, only for the ‘scavenger’ to come after the kill, using both overt and covert tactics. The boy got into a situation where he had two contracts with two clubs.

Now, he cannot be of use to either club at the moment because that is illegal. We at K’Ogalo know and insist that after the under-20 tourney, the boy moved on, to K’Ogalo.

Just like Maria Carey sang in the song X-Girlfriend, the boy moved on! Some part of the song goes thus;
X-girlfriend (AFC) you can’t have him
It’s about time
That you found you a new man (Another Young Player)
He’s moved on (to K’Ogalo)
Don’t you know? x2
You gotta let him go
Let him go x2

Ever since Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier assumed office, and since the tenure of the late James Sianga, Gor Mahia take pride in being able to spot and develop young talent. It is no doubt that Oburu will be in very good hands at K’Ogalo.

You need to look at any young talent that has passed through Gor and that which has passed AFC, then compare the results. In doubt? Think of Michael Olunga. It’s a knock-out punch to the Leopards!

In other news, I am still reeling with sympathy when I recall seeing match officials use papers to signal a substitution as well as the added time during the AFC versus Ulinzi last Wednesday.

You want to tell me that things are that tough for our Mashemeji to the extent that they cannot hire an electronic number board? Next time, K’Ogalo will gladly lend you one in the spirit of Ushemeji.

Oh, we just chalked up our third win of the season!
