Police in Makueni are holding two students over the burning of a dormitory at Kiteta Boys High School.
Mbooni East Sub County Police Chief Peter Njeru confirmed the arrests, saying they were looking for a third student suspected to have been involved in the arson.
He said the students were in Form Three. Mr Njeru said by the time he and other senior security officers arrived at the school after receiving a distress call, the whole dormitory had been gutted.
He said no one was injured during the early morning incident as students were in class for morning preps. Nothing was salvaged from the dormitory, which housed 70 students.
