Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has a raised ruckus with the claim that he, together with others, coached witnesses to testify against Deputy President William Ruto.
What is amusing is why it took too long for Mr Kuria to own up and reveal his involvement in the cases facing the two Kenyans at The Hague.
Kuria epitomises what Italian diplomat and political theorist Niccolo Machiavelli describes in his 16th century political treatise “The Prince”. According to Machiavelli, when a prince comes to power through luck or the blessings of powerful figures within the regime, he typically has an easy time gaining power but a hard time keeping it thereafter.
According to Machiavelli, for such a prince to survive, he should conquer by what he calls ‘criminal virtue’. No one going against the Jubilee tide has escaped the wrath of Kuria.
