Renewed impetus by the political class to fight off the ICC case facing Deputy President William Ruto has more to do with the populous Rift Valley vote.
The Kalenjin have an intimidating voting bloc. When the community rallied behind Odinga, the man came so close to the ultimate prize.
In the last polls, the community threw its weight behind President Kenyatta. Therefore, he must be seen to care about the DP’s plight to appease the Kalenjin nation. Should Kenyatta lose the Kalenjin, it will be over for him.
