Nairobi, Kenya: Tullow Oil has awarded 20 masters scholarships to Kenyan scholars under the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme (TGSS).
TGSS is an annual scheme aimed at providing opportunities to Kenyans to pursue postgraduate studies in oil and gas related courses at some of the world’s leading Universities.
The company will hold a cocktail in honour of the scholars on Tuesday evening at Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi, where it is also set to launch a Sh100 million Skills and Employability Training Program, which targets new graduates.
Finance and Acting Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich is expected to attend the handover ceremony.
Other guests expected are Energy and Petroleum Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Njoroge, Tullow Kenya Country Manager Martin Mbogo, senior officials from Energy Ministry and representatives from the British Council. Also expected are Turkana, Kisumu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo County Governors and their respective County Education Chiefs (CECs).
