Nyamira, Kenya: With many corruption complaints having reached the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) desk, Governor John Nyagarama has declared war on the vice that is tainting the county's image.
EACC Deputy Director in charge of Western Region Charles Rasugu, the county has the highest complaints in the region.
Mr Rasugu made the revelation during an integrity orientation workshop at a Kisumu hotel over the weekend.
The workshop targeted mainstreaming ethics and anti-corruption practices in the county, months after Mr Nyagarama's administration partnered with the commission in a bid to end graft claims.
Rasugu said failure to follow procurement guidelines and employee recruitment processes formed the major subjects of complaints the commission was receiving. "My Government has embraced zero tolerance towards corruption by initiating complaints boxes," said Nyagarama.
