Nyahururu, Kenya: Police in Nyahururu town have arrested 60 suspected criminals in a swoop carried out on Tuesday night after a bomb hoax at the local law court.
The swoop targeted members of outlawed gangs and those without identification documents.
Nyandarua OCPD Benjamin Onsongo said no alien was arrested during the operation.
He added that the operation was carried out within the town’s central business district, Manguo and Kimaina slums which are known to harbour criminals.

The OCPD said the exercise was prompted by reports that aliens had sought refuge within the town.
“We are not taking anything lightly and that is why we have planned for operations on daily basis,” he said.
Operations at Nyahururu law courts were paralysed Tuesday after word went round that a bomb had been planted in one of the court rooms.
“The recent hoax about a bomb placed in court has forced us to be on high alert and I can assure residents that we will not allow this to happen,” he said.
