The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) yesterday claimed a plot to topple Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero through the ongoing feud between him and Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh.
The party said it had evidence to prove that unnamed forces were using the court process to remove the governor from office.
Through lawyer James Orengo, the party told High Court judge David Majanja that the case in which the governor is threatened with charges of assault has political undertones and is designed to destabilise the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).
“We will place evidence before you to prove that there is an ulterior motive in the case beyond the criminal intent,” Orengo told the court.
