EPL: Manchester United are finally closing in on Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao and hope to take him on loan until the end of the season. The Portugal international nearly left the Bernabeu for Old Trafford in August but the deal fell threw on the final day of the transfer window.
United have remained keen on the 25-year-old since then but hopes had faded that they would land their man when La Liga giants Real insisted they would not allow any player to leave this window.
However, the Telegraph believes Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is willing to relent in this instance and will allow Coentrao to join the Premier League champions until the end of the season when options will then be reviewed. If all goes well he will join the Red Devils on a permanent basis.
