Investigations are being carried out to establish circumstances under which a female AP officer was raped last month.
Although AP chiefs were mean with information, we established that the matter has not been swept under the carpet even though the corporal has denied she was sexually abused by three men suspected to be either Nigerians or Cameroonians.
The incident took place in the wee hours of July 23 in Industrial Area. The officer had been in a nightlong party with the foreigners at a popular club on Baricho Road before she was found alone unconscious in her car unable to drive.
Colleagues took her to Nairobi Women’s Hospital where she declined to be examined, insisting that her decision must be respected.

While the country thought DIG Lagat had stepped aside, he was on annual leave
Samuel Arachi, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of APs, said investigations are complicated because there is no complainant.
“The person (officer) who is being mentioned says she is comfortable, so there is no complainant,” Arachi told The Nairobian.
However, it is understood detectives are pursuing a lead they believe is vital in unravelling the riddle surrounding the incident.
The officer was supposed to have reported on duty on August 16 from leave, but she has not.
