Nairobi, Kenya: Gor Mahia bounced back to winning ways in style after thrashing Muhoroni Youth 3-0 at City Stadium, Saturday.
Kevin Omondi, Israel Emuge and Paul Kiongera scored a goal each for the league leaders.
Unsettled striker Dan Sserunkuma received a standing ovation when he came on for Kevin Omondi in the 70th minute ending a stalemate between the club and player after he was accused of sneaking out of the country to pursue a professional stint in Eastern Europe.
The K’ogalo went on the offensive from the word go and Kiongera was unlucky not to score in the 20th minute as his effort produced the first corner after Shaban Ouma in Muhoroni goal had a touch on the ball.

Then three minutes later man of the match Moses Odhiambo wasted the best chance to put Gor ahead when he fumbled with ball with only Ouma to beat in goal as the Muhoroni custodian punched the ball out for Gor’s second corner.
It was not until the 27th minute that Muhoroni had their first chance at goal when Titi Ogutu’s shot went straight to Jerim Onyango.
Pilling pressure
The effort encouraged Muhoroni and four minutes later Kennedy Oduor hit the bar with Onyango well beaten. The huge crowd was silenced as Muhoroni kept up the pressure.
The tide turned a bit and Gor immediately went on the offensive with Kevin Omondi missing after a great 1-2 with Innocent Mutiso. In the 35th minute Muhoroni goalkeeper Shaban Ouma came out to stop David Owino’s free kick.
In the 40th minute, Solomon Nasio released a long ball which got Paul Kiongera but his effort to head home was frustrated by Ouma who punched the ball on the path of Kevin Omondi who wasted no time to score.
As the second half kicked off, Muhoroni made the first substitution bringing on Jackson Ouma for Paul Mboya.
In 60th minute Kiongera’s effort ended up in a corner which was ably taken by Moses Odhiambo and ended on the head of Israel Emuge who scored.
Kiongera made up for his many loses with the match’s third goal in the 80th minute.
At Bukhungu Stadium, Karuturi Sport held Western Stima to a depressing barren draw in Kakamega.
Stima’s best chance came in the third minute when Dennis Onkangi’s efforts were thwarted by Noah Ayuko of Karuturi who saved the goal.
Duncan Owiti of Karuturi on the other hand had lost a good chance, as he went past the Stima back-line, only to shoot the ball straight at Stima keeper David Juma. It rained during first half starved fans good moments.
