Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in the country ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations tomorrow.
President Chakwera will be in the country for a three-day state visit and is also the Guest of Honor in tomorrow’s national celebrations.
Before departing for Kenya, Chakwera took to his official Twitter account to announce his visit, saying that bi-lateral talks between the two heads of state were one of the reasons for his visit.
“I am leaving for Kenya today at the invitation of my dear brother and friend President Uhuru Kenyatta. I will hold bilateral talks with him for the benefit of our people. I have also been honoured as Chief Guest at this year’s Mashujaa Day Celebrations for tomorrow.

Chakwera arrived this evening in the company of First Lady Monica Chakwera ahead of tomorrow’s celebrations.
Together with his delegation, they were officially received at State House, Nairobi, by Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru.
This year’s Mashujaa Day Celebrations, marked annually on October 20, will be held at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga with only 2, 000 guests invited out of the possible 15. 000 (the stadium's capacity).
