Residents of a village in Gatanga are living in fear after an animal seriously injured a child and killed livestock.
Gatura chief, Samuel Kahora said the animal, believed to be a wild dog attacked a one-year-old boy while he was playing outside their home.
"He sustained injuries on the head and cheeks and was rushed to hospital," said Mr Kahora.
He said recently the animal killed 12 goats and a calf. Efforts by the Provincial Administration and the Kenya Wildlife Service, to track the animal are yet to bear fruit.
