The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Technology has cautioned the Kenya National Examination Council against irregular cancellation of national exam results.
Committee Chairman David Koech said KNEC should train examination supervisors, invigilators, and principals to curb cheating during national examinations that lead to cancellation of results.
"It is very painful to have students endure the entire course, have their results cancelled and barred from sitting any examination for two years," said Koech.
The Mosop MP also said before results are cancelled, KNEC should ensure it had evidence of cheating.

Leaders and parents in Gucha have expressed concern over Knec’s decision to impose a two-year ban on candidates caught cheating in exams. Bobasi MP Chris Obure and his Bomachoge counterpart Simon Ogari, said the punishment was unfair to students who were victims of a wider web of cheating.
Speaking in Gucha DC’s office, the leaders called for expedient investigations to nab individuals who facilitate the vice.
