Love triangles in most cases end up with nasty confrontations and at times even with death. While many people view this kind relationships as normal in our society, the affected partners of the cheating husband or wife are often left with a bitter aftertaste and distrust. In Kenya, news of extra martial affairs hit our news every now and then, often with the angry affected partner attacking their cheating other half of the third party.

Prominent names have not been left behind with several government officials finding themselves in such situations. Usually we the public speculate for a while before moving on to other news. However, spouses of this prominent people have to declare, mostly to the people whom they serve, what their take is.

Some of the names that have been mentioned in such situations include, governors, deputy governors and other elected people and senior government officials. While the stories fade away after a while, spouses are left dealing with the fact that everyone knows they got cheated on.

Here are some of the wives of big names in Kenya who found themselves in such situations;

Mrs Hellen Obado

Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s wife is the latest victim in such a case after her husband was named the prime suspect in Rongo University student the late Sharon Otieno. On the night of September 4th 2018, Sharon’s body was found dumped in a forest in Homa Bay County with stab wounds. She was carrying a seven month old pregnancy, claimed to be the Governor’s responsibility as the two had had an affair. Mrs. Hellen in this case accompanied her husband to a press conference where he confessed to have had an affair with Sahron. She stuck by his side even as he showed chats between him and the late Sharon in a bid to prove he loved her and would not have planned for her murder. The Governor’s wife in the midst of all the scandal even posted her feelings on Facebook implying that she was finding peace in trusting in God.

Prisca Mwaro

Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba has always made his love intersts known to the public. Initially, we would be treated to photos of happy times he spent with his first wife Prisca Mwaro leaving us all envious. Things however changed after a while with Ababu being accused of having multiple relations with younger women. Prisca allegedly left their matrimonial home over allegations that her husband was cohabiting with his niece, Cecilia Moraa, besides having affairs with two college students. When asked to comment, Prisca who’s now living by herself chose not to and asked any questions to be directed to Ababu or the alleged girls.

Mrs. Ndambiri

In April this year, Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri became a national topic after an incriminating video went viral. In the video, Kirinyaga’s second in command and an unidentified woman were seated on a bed naked while being grilled by an unknown number of men. Mrs. Ndambiri wowed us all when she later accompanied him to Christ is the Answer ministries (CITAM) and claimed to have forgiven him. She said that after a lot of soul searching she had decided that the scandal was not going to drive a wedge between her and the Deputy Governor.

While these are not the only wives whose names have been in one way or another dragged in such situations, their reactions or responses will remain in our memories for a long time.
