Charles Ng'eno, Teacher: There is no need for a man to give an allowance to a working wife. As we seek to empower women, there is need to make them dependent and have a feel of the joy of spending their own money.

For those not working, there is need for a husband to create for her partner a source of income so that she does not look forward to her husband’s. This will open up her mind to the many opportunities that can make a family prosper.

Winnie Mwangi, Beautician: It will depend on what the man is getting on his payroll. If he gets good money, why not?

Peter Ouma, Sales person: Yes, being an African man, men are to provide. A man's confidence is in his finances. When he provides, he feels good. He keeps his ego.

Rosebella Apollo, Administrator: Yes, according to the Bible, a man is to provide to fulfill his masculine obligation. Women need to be taken care of. If you give her an allowance, she will feel appreciated. It will mean a lot to her.
