Anyone who was born in the 80s, must have had an experience with the hula-hoop. It was the in-thing back in the day.
This tubular plastic hoop was rotated about the body by hip, limbs and neck motion by kids.
So, when I heard about the mathree called Hula Hoop registered with Ongata Line Sacco that plies the city centre- Rongai route, I looked forward to seeing what it was all about.
Barely a week old, I took a ride in it and it surely was impressive.
What got me were the cosy seats.
Further, the mathree doesn’t play loud music and they even accept special requests!
Peter Kim, one of the crew, told Ma3 Culture that, “We are trying our best to attract customers. We are doing business very differently.”
With less graffiti and appropriate choice of cool colours, Hula Hoop is already giving its competitors a run for their money.
