The long-awaited dream for members of Mukamukuu Farmers Co-operative Society in Matungulu sub-county could come true today when they receive title deeds for their land.
Disclosing this, the society's chairman George Mutiso said all arrangements had been finalised and more than 1,000 members will get titles.
Mr Mutiso said during the presentation ceremony at the society's offices, head teachers of all public and private schools within the jurisdiction of the society will also receive title deeds.
He said the documents would be given in phases depending on those who have completely paid for their registration.
"It is a dream come true for the members who since buying the farm from the white settlers over 50 years have been looking forward to the day they would get the titles for their land," he said.
He said the historic ceremony would be graced by several high-ranking officers from the Machakos county government, who have played a big role in ensuring the procurement of the documents.
He urged members to ignore people who were opposed to the issuance of the titles deeds.
