Details have emerged of why the process of vetting of judges and magistrates has hit a snag and is bound to delay the process even further. The public service commission charged with putting in place a board to carry out the process has written to the president expressing their frustration that no woman had applied to the board hence falling short of the constitutional requirement. Kenyan lawyers are now asking for an amendment allowing the commission to receive recommendations from select appropriate bodies like the law society of Kenya.
