You may be wondering why your hair is not as healthy as you would wish it to be. It never grows to the desirable length, is dry and breaks a lot.

Well, there could be some things you do as you shower that have contributed to this. You can get your hair to Brazilian weave bouncy look, just by doing a few things in the shower.

They include:

Proper shampooing:

Many people only shampoo the hair itself, forgetting the scalp and the roots of the hair. These are the spots where dirt collects and need thorough shampooing. Try, however, to use less shampoo on the ends as it may cause the hair to dry.

No to hot water:

I am one of those who can never bath in cold water. However, hot water can be harmful to the hair. It strips the hair of essential natural oils leading to tangling. If you can’t use cold water, lukewarm is preferable.

Proper brushing:

Hair that has just come out of a shower is very delicate and if not brushed properly, can get damaged. When brushing, begin from the bottom of the hair as you work your way up; always brush outwards. Use a good brush to work through the tangles.

Less shampooing:

Over shampooing damages the hair. Do not use more than the amount needed of shampoo on your hair as this can damage its ends and also dry up the hair. Shampooing twice a week is sufficient for healthy hair.

Short showers:

However ‘sweet’ the water is, avoid prolonged showers - it can harm your hair. Any shower that takes more than ten minutes will wash away the essential oils from your hair.

Hair conditioning:

Do not leave your conditioner on the hair for five minutes in the shower as this is just a waste of time. Conditioners work instantly so staying with it longer does not add value as it cannot penetrate your hair any further. Deep conditioning the hair once every two weeks is healthier than regular conditioning. For best effect with a conditioner, apply it just before you step into a shower and shampoo your hair.

Pat dry:

Never rub your hair dry when you wash it. Rubbing the hair yanks it and damages the ends and the roots. Pat drying may be a longer process, but is more effective and gentler to the hair, thus, the best way to dry your hair.

These tips will give you the long and stunning hair you have been craving.
