Akothee’s sister Cebbie Koks Nyasego was on Tuesday, April 12, robbed by unknown men around Chiromo area, Nairobi.

Narrating the ordeal to Standard Entertainment, Cebbie said it was around 9.30pm when the cab she was in slowed down at a bump around Chiromo.

It was at this point that someone opened the car door and tried to reach for her phone and handbag.

“It had not hit me that I was being robbed because the door was gently opened and before I knew it someone had grabbed my purse.

“I tried to resist but the guy placed something metallic on my chest. I had to let go of my phone and purse,” she said.

Cebbie said after the incident the cab driver asked her what the thugs had taken, something that did not sit right with her because apparently the driver never tried to speed off during the incident.

She also mentioned a separate incident when another cab driver was taking her home and asked to alight around Globe Roundabout to relieve himself.

“I think there is something fishy with some cab drivers because one told me he wanted to get out of the car to pee at night.

“I told him I would speed off if he attempted to do so,” she said.

Mugging

Not too long ago, content creator Joy Kendi was robbed around Westlands area as she was taking a walk.

Sharing details of the incident the fashionista revealed that she lost her phone and house keys among other items.

“The real reason I was offline for a little bit was that I had an incident. The only reason I am bringing this up is because I feel it is good to share it just as a public service announcement for people to be safe in the streets when you are going for your runs, walks, whatever, especially as a female. If you can remember a couple of days ago, I said I was going to walk to Westie as part of my workout for the day so that I can just include that as part of my day-to-day stuff and I was super excited about it,” she said.

Dorea Chege

Actress Dorea Chege too was unfortunately attacked by thugs around Globe roundabout and her car vandalized.

“So guys nimekaribishwa Kanairo. I was coming from Thika Road where I had a salon appointment going home. Hapo Globe roundabout I saw 4 guys and I was like, ‘hawa wanataka kuniibia simu’. So I raised my windows, but I could see them peeping through the windows. I only learned later that they do that to see who is inside the car, so when they saw it was a lady they got confident. I heard some funny sounds only to realize later they had removed my fender flare,” she recalled.

She went on to reveal that while trying to replace her car’s stolen parts, she was sold the same exact parts the thieves had taken from her.

“I was told that these things are a hot cake, they sell very fast [sic] I visited my mechanic in Westlands and was told I needed to go to Kirinyaga Road...I could not go there so I sent a boda guy only to be sold the same ones that were stolen from my car. I can’t even believe it,” she said.
