Popular news anchor Lulu Hassan has taken to social media to celebrate the birthday of her husband Rashid Abdala.

In the short and sweet Instagram post, the screen siren described Abdalla, her fellow news anchor at Citizen TV, as the “favourite person” in her life.

“My favourite person was born today,” she captioned a photo of Abdalla.

Friends, fans and colleagues also jumped in to wish Abdalla a happy birthday on his special day. Taking the lead was Hassan Mugambi who opened up about having a solid friendship with the anchor.

“There are very few who will respond to your call and be there for you at 3:00am in times of need. The language of friendship is not words but meanings. There is a lot to say about the banyamulenge but today I leave it, happy birthday brother,” he wrote.

Appreciating the birthday wishes in an anecdotal throwback post, Rashid Abdalla wrote, “Nina zaidi ya asante kwenu nyote mulioipa siku yangu ya kuzaliwa maana.

He went ahead to unleash a photo he said captured the day he first cooked for Lulu and urged his fans to never give up in life.

The couple who co-present Nipashe, has never shied away from displaying their affection towards each other publicly. In a previous interview, he showered Lulu with love, saying she changed his life totally.

The two got engaged two weeks after meeting, had a colourful wedding in 2013 and are blessed with three children; two sons and a daughter.

Just like any relationship, however, they too fall out at times. A follower on Instagram once asked Lulu how she cops working with her husband and if they do fight.

“Lol. Sio sanaaa,” she replied.
