Eric Latiff.

Spice FM morning show presenter Eric Latiff has said he is overwhelmed by the market's response barely two weeks after he started hosting the morning show. Latiff hosts The Situation Room, a four-hour morning talk show on Spice FM alongside scientist Dr Charles Muga, political communications consultant Njeri Thorne and scholar Nduh Okoh.

“When we started we weren’t sure how Kenyans will take up a four-hour talk show but we realized there is a vacuum for intelligent conversation on radio, the people calling in are razor-sharp, and this is absolutely stimulating. We dwell in topical issues, current affairs, and we speak truth to power, and out topics are thought-provoking” says Latiff who has 20 years’ experience in broadcast journalism as a radio and TV manager, producer, presenter, news editor, news anchor and digital media strategist.

He adds that The Situation Room on Spice FM is all about critical thinking, open and frank conversations. “We can promise our listeners that this will be the best one-stop talk shop in the entire region, and we really appreciate them for their support. The show is growing stronger by the day and we are consolidating our market.”

Latiff is currently the Director of Zeze Digital, a data-driven marketing agency that helps clients to optimize the power of digital platforms and social media for effective marketing and communication. Prior to this, Eric has worked as a digital manager, news editor and anchor at Capital FM, senior anchor at KTN, production manager and producer at Kameme FM as well as radio/ TV producer at Family Media. He was the founding Station Manager at K24.

His experience in use of digital media platforms stems from his work as Senior Online Editor at Capital FM, personal public engagements on his social media accounts and strategic advisory services extended to a number of individual and corporate brands.

Eric is the founder of I Run This City (www.irunthiscity.co.ke) an online platform that uses various social tools to advocate devolution. It has created a two-way communication channel between county governments and citizens, promoting public participation in decision making, enhancing civic education and a data hub to gauge public opinion on devolution.

As a strong believer in the importance of ‘paying it forward’, Eric is involved in a number of social-good activities like mentorship, education bursaries support and community initiatives.

Besides work, he likes to spend time with family and close friends, reading, enjoying leisurely drives or watching his favourite football team, Arsenal, play.
